today [yesterday] i was at luna park at 7am to work come together. after a solid three hours sleep, i was grouchy until after midday.
the fact it was emo-fest didn't help. i hate emo kids and emo music.
there were a few bands playing i've worked with before who supplied me with wine and conversation during my lunch break. and a certain tour manager i have a long standing crush on. that helped.
mostly it was an incredibly long day [nineteen hours] of emo.
the highlight was probably in the van on the way home, when one of the boys told me what all the fuss was about when i was below eye level, stocktaking.
an american band, some girls, refused to get off stage. after having the stage lights turned off and, eventually, the power cut, the drummer continued playing and one of the guys climbed on the others shoulder to moon the crowd. apparently it took about twenty security guards to get them off stage.
also, i found out the singer of a band i was on tour with last year became a dad a few days ago. his happiness was pretty infectious.
tomorrow [today] i am being collected in time to be back at luna park by 8am. another solid sleep of at least four hours.
indie day. bands i love, like and don't loathe. a winning combination, if only by comparison.
